In 1994, Dr. Ir. Eddy Suryanto Soegoto founded the German Indonesian Computer Education Institute (LPKIG) for a 1-year education program, occupying the campus on Jl. Dipatiukur No. 102. In the third year, the name of the Indonesian German Computer Education Institute (LPKIG) was changed to Indonesian Germany Institute (IGI).
On December 24, 1998, the Science and Technology Foundation was formed which was followed by a submission to the West Java Kopertis IV for the establishment of STIE IGI and STMIK IGI.

VISION
Become a competent study program in the field of Electrical Engineering, become a center for the dissemination and development of knowledge in the field of control systems and telecommunications systems that are superior, reliable and dignified, have global achievements and reputation, and have entrepreneurial insight.
MISION
- Organizing educational programs at the undergraduate level by providing effective and efficient theoretical and practical knowledge in order to produce competent graduates in the field of Electrical Engineering, able to apply them according to user needs, entrepreneurial insight and ready to compete globally.
- Develop research in the fields of control, telecommunications and applied electronics based on a clear roadmap and lead to scientific publications and/or real products.
- Carry out various community/industry service activities as an effort to contribute to solving real problems in the community/industry.
- Implement collaboration with industry, government, community institutions and related institutions both nationally and internationally in order to improve the quality of relevance in teaching, research and graduate competencies.
- Organizing effective and efficient study program management to facilitate the development of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.

2 | Fields of human resource development Target : > Increasing the quality of lecturers and administrative staff. Strategy : > Sending lecturers for further study of S2/S3 according to their field of expertise > Sending lecturers to attend training/seminars/workshops related to the field of expertise. > Hold guest lectures from experts, industry and universities. > Sending administrative staff to attend trainings/workshops related to areas of expertise. Indicators of achievement/target targets: > Sending 2 lecturers for further study for Doctoral Degree and 2 people for Masters in a span of 5 years. > The amount of administrative training is 1 to 2 times per year. > Guest lectures held 14 times in a span of 3 years. |
3 | Field of development of facilities and infrastructure Target : > Availability of supporting facilities and infrastructure for the creation of good learning process conditions. Strategy : > Repair or replace laboratory equipment that is no longer functioning in the teaching laboratory. > Increase the ability and convenience for internet access for lecturers and students. > Creating the best possible conditions to maximize the learning process in the classroom. Indicators of achievement/target targets: > Submission of practicum tools is carried out at the beginning of each semester of the academic year. > Adding internet access capabilities and adding Wi-Fi points so that they can be accessed at several locations in UNIKOM > Submission of teaching aids is done at the beginning of each academic year. |
4 | Fields of education and research Target : > Produce graduates who have integrity, knowledge, skills and abilities so that they are able to compete in the global market, and have good morals and ethics > Improving the quality of research so that it can be published both nationally, regionally and internationally and be applied in real terms to help solve industrial and community problems Strategy : > Improving the quality of study programs in producing graduates with a high average GPA and on time. > Enforce conditional courses. > Evaluate and develop a curriculum that is able to respond to technological developments. > Pioneering and developing laboratory-based learning (Lab Based Education) through workshops and laboratory development involving lecturers and students. > Develop a research culture to produce outputs in the form of publications/journals/seminars at national and international levels, as well as textbooks published nationally. Indicators of achievement/target targets > Produce graduates with 5 years of study time and an average graduate GPA of 2.96. > Waiting time for graduates to get a job is 1 to 3 months. > Curriculum review/evaluation is conducted every 4 years. > Produced 8 publications in scientific magazines in the last 3 years. > Obtain competitive research grants. |
5 | Fields of Community Service Target : > Increase the involvement of lecturers and students in the implementation of community service. Strategy : > Establish cooperation with other institutions or institutions. > Equipping students with an understanding of ethical and professional responsibilities as well as creating awareness of the social impacts arising from their professional activities. > Increase the number and quality of PKM programs. Indicators of achievement/target targets: > Carry out community service activities at least once a year. > The number of collaborations established in the span of 2 years is 3 collaborations |
